KEY WEST - A LITTLE LIGHT READING

TRANSPORTATION
Air: Key West International Airport (EYW) is located directly on the island. Since the airport is small, your connection flight to Key West will be on a small plane, often referred to as a “puddle jumper”. The flights originate from Miami (MIA), Ft. Lauderdale (FLL), Tampa, Orlando, or Atlanta. From the plane, the view of the Florida Keys is breathtaking. Car: A car is not necessary in Key West unless you plan on visiting the other keys. I suggest a street-legal golf cart rental to get you everywhere you need to be. Train: Amtrak does not have a station in Key West. The closest Amtrak station is in Miami. |

THE WEATHER
Spring is the most popular time to visit Key West. The winter crowds have dissipated and the weather is remarkably similar to winter's blissful 70s and 80s. The weather is pleasant as the dry season occurs from December through April, characterized by a lot of sunshine and a little rain. |
